Obituary of Danielle Lauren Phelan
Danielle Laureen Phelan, a bright spirit with a kind heart, passed away on May 20, 2025, at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. She was 36 years old.
Born in Boston, Danielle shared a deep and lifelong bond with her twin sister, Laura. The two were inseparable, sharing not only their childhood and school years but also a close-knit circle of friends that carried them through life's many moments.
A proud member of the Burlington High School Class of 2006, Danielle was known for her warmth, humor, and engaging personality. She worked as a waitress and also took on the role of manager at a local Chinese restaurant, where her welcoming smile and easy charm made her a favorite among customers and coworkers alike.
Danielle's journey through life was not without its hardships, but she met her challenges with courage and determination. She experienced profound losses, including the passing of two beloved sisters, and weathered many difficult times. Yet through it all, Danielle never lost the capacity to love deeply and bring joy to those around her.
Her greatest joy in life was her son, Matthew, whom she adored beyond measure. He was her guiding light, and she took immense pride in the young man he has become. Her love for him was fierce and unwavering, and she worked hard to give him the best of herself.
Danielle's passing is a heartbreaking loss to all who knew her. Those who loved her will remember the laughter, the kindness, and the moments of joy she gave so freely. Her story is one of resilience, love, and a deep longing for peace.
Danielle's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who loved her-especially her son Matthew, for whom she hoped and dreamed the world.
Danielle was the proud mother of Matthew Sarsfield. She was the loving daughter of Thomas Coleman of Nottingham, NH and the late Gloria Henao. Her grandparents, the late David "Papa" Flett and the late Lena Phelan of Burlington were instrumental in her upbringing and a source of strength and support. She was the granddaughter of Maria Henao of CT. She was the sister of Evelyn Arias-Goobic of Mount Pleasant, SC, the late Jennifer Phelan, and late Laura Phelan. She was the niece of Eileen Donovan of Reading, John and France Coleman of Manchester, NH, Robert Traniello of North Reading, and Camilo Henao of CT. She was also survived by many cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON on Thursday, May 29 from 10:30 to 12:30 and will end with a 12:30 service at the funeral home.
