Dannie L. Newland

Lima, OH Dannie Lee Newland, age 66, passed away on November 17, 2025, at 5:32 pm, at the Shawnee Manor Nursing Home. Dannie was born on April 15, 1959, in Lima, OH, to the late George C. and Ada Lou (Smith) Newland. Dannie is survived by his brother, Ronnie "Ron" (Becky) Newland of Aiken, SC, sisters in-law: Debbie (Thomas) Hunt of Elida, OH, and Toni (Jerome) Andersen of Ishpeming, MI, a niece, Sabrina Miller of Lima, OH, and a nephew, Jeremy (Courtney) Newland of Graniteville, SC. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Thelma Collins, Mary Ray, and Mike Mines. Dannie was a 1977 graduate of Elida High School. On October 14, 1978, Dannie was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was a loving caregiver to family and friends and would always offer a helping hand. Dannie enjoyed playing tennis, softball, and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Detroit Tigers. He had worked for McDonald's for 10 years until he began working for West Ohio Gas/Dominion Energy. He worked there for 31 years until he retired in 2018. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 703 W. Bluelick Rd., Lima, OH. Officiating the service will be Elder Collin Deitsch. Friends may visit from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 3:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy-Health Hospice.
