Danny Howard Barrett, 78 of Loveland, passed away on August 19, 2025. Born to Estel and Glenna (nee McDaniel) Barrett on April 8, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Danny was a sports fanatic and a diehard University of Kentucky basketball fan. He enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and OSU football, but his favorite team was the UK Wildcats.
Danny met the love of his life while attending school at Moorehead University. Danny was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and married Karen during her sophomore year.
Danny was known for his ability to give directions easily and turn you right around if you were lost. He was intelligent, kind, generous, and had a dry sense of humor. Danny was the type of person who never met a stranger - he took time to engage with people and get to know them.
If his day included spending time with his grandchildren, UK basketball, and a good nap he was set.
Preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Betty Jo Barrett and Edith Marie Barrett and one nephew, Mickey Clore.
Danny is survived by his beloved wife, Karen (nee Oney) Barrett, children, Amanda (Jesse) Laurens and Tyler (Christy Powers) Barrett, grandchildren, Quinn Laurens, Elliott Powers, Grier Barrett and Margaret Barrett, brother, Dale (Michelle) Barrett, lifelong friend, Mike Meinze, two nephews, Lance (Katie) Barrett and Colton Barrett and three great nieces and nephews, Chase Clore, Adalyn Barrett and Luke Barrett.
