In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a wife, Rhonda Ayscue Bruce; sons, Danny Westley Bruce, Jr. and Tracy Faulkner; sisters, Evelyn Tharpe and Nancy Pennell; and brother, Carl Edward Bruce, Jr.

Danny is survived by his wife, Vicki Bruce; his children, David Bruce, Dustin Bruce, Michelle Hobson (Travis), and Vonda Fox (Mark); and his grandchildren, Charlotte Bruce, Gavin Williams, Corbin Hobson, and Devin Fox. He is also survived by his brother, Rex Bruce (Ruby); sisters, Judy Gail Bruce, Cindy McMahan (Dwight) and Robbin Bruce Fitzgerald (Tim); numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friends, Wayne Adams, Bill Davis, and J.W. Danny retired from the Railroad Company as Train Conductor and he was also an ordained Minister. He was a member of the Ruritans Club where he served as Past President and Zone Governor. Danny was a loving father to his children and a devoted brother and caregiver to his sister, Judy Gail. He enjoyed antiques and collectibles but one of his greatest joys in life was being a grandpa. His sons say they will always remember him as “the greatest man they have ever known.”
