Danny Ray Lester

Danny Ray Lester, 60, of Jolo, West Virginia passed away suddenly but peacefully at Princeton Community Hospital on January 26, 2025.
Danny was born June 7, 1964 in Welch, WV a of son of Doris Baker Lester and the late Louis "Ruben" Lester.
In addition to his father, Danny was preceded in death by one sister, Melissa Lester and a baby brother, Billy Kevin.
To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his mother, Doris Lester of Jolo; his wife of the past 20 years, Tabatha Lester, of the home; eight sons, Dennis (Dakota) Lester of Knoxville, TN, Micheal (Becca) Lester, of Greensboro, NC, Matthew (Melayna) Lester of Grundy, VA, Shane Lester of Richmond, VA, Eric (Ashley) Lester of Paynesville, Brady Lester, Austin Lester and Andrew Lester all of the home; and siblings, Lewis "Junior" (Rose) Lester of Grundy, VA, Sharon (Dwayne) Rowe of Jolo, Debbie (Wayne) Tate of Wytheville, VA, Angie (Rayburn) Mullins of West Liberty, KY, Randy (Leeann) Lester of Grundy, VA, Tasha Lester and Brandon Lester.
Anyone who knew him could see the love he had for his 11 grandkids: Aubree Lester, Camryn Lester, Jordyn Lester, Avery Lester, Shepard Lester, Tucker Lester, Hayes Lester, Ellie Lester, Lilly Lester, Easton Lester and a new grand-baby due in August.
He was the definition of a stoic, county boy who loved hunting squirrels and riding horses. The owner of L&L Tree Service for decades, he never shied away from hard work. Even the day of his passing, he was getting work figured out for the next day. In life, he was true to himself. A dedicated provider. A hard worker. A loving husband. A great daddy. A doting papaw. A true, one of a kind person who has left a void that can't be filled.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 31, 2025 at 1 o'clock with Elder Fred Bailey and Elder Gary Estep officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in Preston Mullins Cemetery on Baker Ridge near Jolo, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Lester, Micheal Lester, Matthew Lester, Shane Lester, Eric Lester and Brady Lester.
Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, Friday, January 31, 2025 from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 o'clock.
