Danny Ray Phillips passed away on May 8, 2025, in Longview, Texas. He was born on September 14, 1949, in Dallas, Texas to Robert and Almedia (Waldrop) Phillips. He lived a life dedicated to his family, friends, and the community.

A proud graduate of Harmony High School, Danny dedicated his life to the construction industry, pouring his heart into his work for nearly fifty years. His commitment led him to establish his own business.

Beyond his professional achievements, Danny cherished the simple pleasures of life, including spending time outdoors. He found joy in being outdoors and was an avid hunter, activities that brought him peace and fulfillment.

A devoted member of Rosewood Baptist Church, Danny lived his faith through acts of kindness and compassion, touching the hearts of those in his community. His friends often spoke of his generous spirit and ability to lend a helping hand whenever needed. He was a family man at heart, spreading his warmth and love to all.

Danny is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathy Phillips; daughters, Kristy Anderson and husband Eddie, Danna Brister and husband Shannon, Joanie Phillips, Courtney Taylor and husband Jeff; brother, Billy Lorece Phillips, Sr. and wife June; sister, Brenda K. Settles; grandchildren, Bradley Phillips and wife Cami, Megan Valenzuela and husband Rubio, Hayden Anderson, Colten Brill, Caleb Anderson, Hunter Anderson, Cade Anderson, Samuel Brister, Hannah Brister, Carson Brister, Madison Harrison, Gracie Lindley, Olivia Taylor and Jack Taylor; along with five and a half great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Wayne Phillips.

Pallbearers are Colten Brill, Hunter Anderson, Samuel Brister, Billy Phillips, Bradley Phillips, Caleb Anderson and Cade Anderson.

Honorary pallbearers are Hayden Anderson, Jack Taylor, Ray Settles and Michael Settles.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer from 6-8PM. Funeral service will be held Monday, May 12, 2025, at Rosewood Baptist Church beginning at 10AM with Bro. Charles Johnson and Bro. Donny Chamberlain officiating.
