Mr. Danny Joe Sensing, affectionately known as DJ to those who knew him best, a cherished man whose life was characterized by his loving nature, adventurous spirit, and passion for life, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, in Waverly, TN, at the age of 55. He was born on August 3, 1969, in Dickson, TN. His life was full of laughter, warmth, dedication, and joy, leaving a lasting impact on all the people who had the privilege of knowing him.
Danny was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Navy from 1988 until 1992. While in the Navy, he was a part of Operation Desert Storm. After serving in the Navy, DJ joined the Army Reserves from 1993-1996.
Dedication and hard work were the cornerstone of his career. Danny was a part of the carpenters’ union and worked many years in construction. After working as a carpenter and in construction, DJ decided to go back to college. He spent the last 13 years of his career as a teacher and director of the PTEC and MTEC program at Nashville State Community College in Waverly, TN. He was a constant source of encouragement by contributing his expertise and passion to all his students over the years.
In DJ’s spare time, he loved to support his favorite NFL team, The Titans. His enthusiasm for the game was infectious and he often shared his joy of the game with family and friends.
DJ never met a stranger and will be remembered for his friendly and outgoing personality. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends that he held dearest to his heart.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until service time Saturday, June 28th at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Mr. Sensing will be conducted at 4:00pm Saturday, June 28, 2025, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. William Brown officiating.
Mr. Sensing’s wishes were to be cremated following the service.
