Danny Gerald Stepp, 81, of Waterloo, widower of Margaret Stepp, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 at his home. Born on December 19, 1943 in Oregon, MO, he was the son of the late HM Stepp and Nina Joplin. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Providence PHC. Danny was a loving family man and was known for his constant jokes right up until the end, as well as his amazing ability to build and fix anything. For many years, he worked as a truck driver and, in his later years, he slowed down and became a chauffeur. He was deeply passionate about traveling, hunting, and bass fishing, where he entered and won many tournaments. He is survived by his children, Paul Clayton "Clay" Thomas, Sr, Angela Thomas Nicks, Jerry "Dale" Thomas (Matthew Reinhardt), and Patricia Dawn Stepp; sister, Nita Tubb; brothers, Mike Stepp (Missy) and Roger Stepp (Shelia); grandchildren, Brittany Thomas (Chevy Holly), Chandler Thomas, Jordan Thomas (Ryan Martin), Paul Thomas, Jr, Michael Nicks, Heather Nicks (Tyler Belt); and numerous great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Boyer. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael Nicks, Josh Jones, Clay Thomas, James Agnew, Dakota Jackson, and Tyler Belt. The family will receive friends before the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
