Danny Ray Welch, age 71, passed away Friday, August 16, 2024. He passed peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cancer. His son Daniel and his sister Becky were right by his side.
Danny was born July 7, 1953, in Oklahoma City to Troy and Gladys (Titus) Welch. He grew up in OKC and was a truck driver by trade, but also a welder and mechanic on the side. He was a wheeler/dealer and enjoyed attending auctions and loved finding a good deal. Danny enjoyed fishing, going to the lake, and spending time with family. Most of all, Danny loved food. He looked forward to the holidays every year when he and Daniel would spend all day cooking together. His most recent joy was being able to work side by side with Daniel at PMP Directional.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ike. He is survived by his daughter, Lorie Moore-Welch and fiancé Damien and his son, Daniel and wife Lyndee. He had four grandchildren: Nathan, Cody, Shaylee, and Gunnar and one sister, Becky Glenn.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 24, 2024 at McNeil's Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.
In honor of Danny, feel free to wear a pearl snap button down shirt or trucker hat.

As a volunteer coordinator with TenderCare/A Path of Care Hospice, I had the pleasure of delivering a birthday card and a handmade quilt on Danny's birthday, July 7. It was an honor to meet him and visit with him briefly. I would describe Danny as "a really cool guy"!
