Mrs. Sabre Darlene Atkins Roberts, age 54, of Fruithurst, AL, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 25, 2024. She was born July 24, 1969 in Scottsboro, AL to the late Robert Franklin Atkins, III and Cornelia Jensen Atkins, of Heflin, AL. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her son, Robert Radvansky; sister, Kathleen Atkins; brothers, Christopher Atkins and Michael Atkins; and niece, Trinity Atkins.
Darlene was one of a kind. She was sassy, a force to be reckoned with and passionate about the people she loved and the causes dear to her heart. She had an incredible entrepreneurial spirit. A lover of animals, she ran a pet rescue, God's Creatures, for many years and founded the County Feed & Seed in Tallapoosa. She and her husband, Ray, also started the Rebel Crossing restaurant in Tallapoosa. Together, they ran it for 5 years and created a place for all to come together. Darlene was a great mentor and made a point to hire those in recovery and help turn their lives around. She and Ray sewed many seeds and offered kindness to so many, when others wouldn't. She loved riding motorcycles and turning heads with her beautiful smile. She was a faithful woman and was a devoted member of Grace Tabernacle Ministries in Jacksonville, AL. Darlene loved her family deeply and was the world's greatest Nana.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Ray Roberts, of Fruithurst; parents, Cornelia Atkins and John Lockhart, of Heflin, AL; sons and daughters in law, David and Sarah Radvansky, III, of Tallapoosa, GA, Mark and Sarah Radvansky, of Buchanan, GA, and Tylor and Samantha Radvansky, of Tallapoosa; daughters and sons in law, Amanda and Robbie Miles of Dallas, GA and Julia and Doug Ayers, Bremen, GA; grandchildren, Kade, Asher, Jonah, Calan, Ensley, Atlas, and Clara Kate Radvansky, Archer, Cooper, and Hazel Ayers, and one on the way; uncle, Cokey Jensen; sister in law, Melissa Atkins; niece and nephews, Christopher, Virginia Grace, and Mya Atkins; best friend and sister, Kandise Cobb; biological mother, Becky Stover, of Boaz, AL; half-sister, Cindy Ridgeway; step-sister, Nikki Evans; and half-brother, Matt Stover.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 5:00PM in the Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel with Pastor Byrian Watts officiating. Music will be provided by Edd Saxon, Jeffery Hulsey, and Alisha Beck. Following the service, Aquamation services will be provided by Miller Funeral Home.
