ALEXANDRIA, IN – Darrell Bowlin, 91, entered peace and rest on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Summit Health and Living in Summitville following an extended illness.
He was born May 19, 1934, in Salt Lick, Kentucky to Gary and Ruby (Utterback) Bowlin and has lived in the Madison County area most of his lifetime. He attended Anderson High School. Darrell retired from Delco-Remy formerly of Anderson. He and his wife Velma have been long-time and active members of the Orestes Baptist Church. He was a lover of growing roses and would often share the beautiful results of his rose garden with friends and family members. He had a favorite rose named Angel Face. Darrell and Velma loved to travel and once took a train trip to California, and they visited Hawaii together. Darrell was a collector and fan of antique automobiles, with his favorite being his Model T. He enjoyed tinkering with his cars and was a skilled mechanic.

Wife-Velma (King) Bowlin-married April 6, 1968
2 Daughters-Cheryl Ann Bowlin and Sheri Lynn (Chris) Wyatt both in Texas
2 Grandsons-Ben Wyatt of Anderson and Carter Bowlin
Several nieces and nephews
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, a son-Roger Bowlin, a brother-Rick Bowlin
Private family services were held at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria. Family and friends are invited to share in a graveside service at 12:30 pm on Monday, July 13, 2025, at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, 6805 MLK Jr. Boulevard, Anderson, IN 46013.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Orestes Baptist Church, 23 Broadway Street, Orestes, IN 46063
