Darrell Paul Obituary

Darrell Marklin Paul

April 7, 1951 - May 26, 2025

Rock Hill, South Carolina - Mr. Darrell Marklin Paul, 74, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Born in Conway, SC, Mr. Paul was the son of the late Moses Bradley Paul and the late Marjorie Gaskins Paul Wing. He served as Vice President of BMP, Inc. a multigenerational, family-owned business proudly serving the Rock Hill community.

Darrell was a proud and passionate supporter of Clemson University, where his love for the Tigers ran deep. Whether cheering from the stands at Death Valley or watching games at home with his family, he rarely missed a football Saturday. His enthusiasm for Clemson sports was contagious, and he delighted in sharing that tradition with his children and grandchildren.

An avid golfer, Darrell found peace and purpose on the golf course. Whether enjoying a quiet round with friends or a spirited game with family, golf was more than a hobby-it was a way to connect, reflect, and celebrate life's moments. He treasured his time on the greens, especially at Spring Lake Country Club, where he built lasting friendships.

Above all, Darrell was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His greatest pride and joy were his family. He cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren, celebrating milestones, offering guidance, and simply being present in their lives.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Spring Lake Country Club, 1375 Springlake Road, York, SC 29745.

Mr. Paul is survived by the mother of his children, Allison Paul; his daughters, Nan Katherine (Chris) Gallis and Maddison (Mark) Wilkerson; his son, Bradley (Cory) Paul; and his beloved grandchildren: Mac Paul, Carter Paul, Jackson Paul, Gates Gallis, Livvy Gallis, Charlotte Wilkerson, and Thomas Wilkerson. He is also survived by his sister, Annette (John) Legard, and his brother, Robert Paul.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Paul's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

My sympathy goes out to Darrell´s family and loved ones. We went to Cheraw High School together (Class of `69) and I remember Darrell as being kind, and as someone who was a friend to all. May he rest in peace.

My heart truly hurts while reading this. I went to school with Darrell, haven't seen him in over 50 years but never forgot him. Darrell was a great classmate and treated everyone with humor and respect. Rest in Peace, Darrell. Condolences to his family.
