Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services - AndersonDarrell M. Richardson, 46, of Chesterfield, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 8, 1979, in Anderson, Indiana, to Alice Morphew and Gary Barnes.
Darrell was a devoted father whose world revolved around his children. He was a gamer at heart, a foodie, and a true Colts fan. He loved wrestling, fishing, and a cold Dr. Pepper in hand.Darrell was homebody who cherished time with family, He found joy in simple things and in the company of those he loved most. He was known for his humor, and he could light up any room with his jokes. He was one of the most genuine people you could meet, and he had a no-nonsense attitude -never judging others by what he heard, but by what he knew in his heart.
He is survived by his children Sabrina LaFrance, Colt Richardson, Mackenzie Cornwell, and Emma Cornwell; his mother Alice (Troy) Morphew; father Gary Barnes; fiancée Priscilla Crull; siblings Jeffery (Joanna) Richardson, Benjamin Lane, and Crystal (Ernie) Taylor; mother-in-law Dorothy Crull; brother- and sister-in-law Dan (Amber) Crull and Rachel(Tyler) Brantlinger; nieces and nephews Jacob, Bradlee, Cherish, Ethan, Brooke, Gauge, Hailey, Danielle, Bobby, Hunter, Josh, Elijah, Jeremiah, and Grayson; great nephews Axel and Kason; special friends Claude Godwin, Dean Ray Jr (lil man), Daniel Houck, Josh Ashby, and Momma C; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were like family.
Darrell was preceded in death by a baby sibling; Cousin Shawn Cornwell; nephew Mason Taylor; father-in-law Bob Crull; grandparents Robert Cornwell, Helen Whitmill, and Bill Richardson; great grandmother Maybel Mead; Aunt Kat Webster; and uncles Donnie Barnes and Terry Barnes.
Services will be Friday, November 21, 2025 at Legacy Funeral Home, 504 W. 9th Street, Anderson, Indiana 46016. A visitation will take place from 1pm to 2:30pm with the service beginning at 2:30pm.
Legacy is honored to care for Darrell and his family during this difficult time.
Darrell will be remembered for his big heart, his laughter, and the love he poured into his family. His legacy lives on through his children and all who were blessed to know him.
