Darrin Tharp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rose Mortuaries & Cremation - Rancho Mirage on Jan. 13, 2025.
Darrin Tharp, beloved husband and friend, passed away April 16th at the age of 61.
Darrin was born on January 27th, 1962 and adopted by loving parents, Jack and Freddie Tharp. He graduated from Beloit Catholic High School in 1980 and went on to study nursing at Rock Valley College and the University of St. Francis. He devoted over 30 years to his career in healthcare, touching the lives of many individuals in various locations across the country. He most recently served as a Medical Facility Surveyor for Healthcare Management Solutions.
When he wasn't serving the needs of others, Darrin enjoyed traveling, a passion instilled in him by his mother when he was young. His love of color and landscape design was exhibited in his exceptional garden and collection of intricate glass art. He enjoyed attending music performances, and above all, spending time with friends and family. He had a compassionate and beautiful soul that will be missed by many.
He is survived by his husband and love of his life, Dan Mulcahey; brother, Shawn Paul Tharp (Kathleen); stepson, Brad Mulcahey (Sarah); stepdaughter, Amy Mulcahey; grandchildren, Lauren, Collin, and Tripp; sisters-in-law MaryEllen Albano (Rich Paeglow), Cathy Choppa (Mark, deceased), and Kelly Chesak (Dave); many nieces and nephews; and his two dogs, Wrigley and Daisy. He was predeceased by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held in Palm Springs, CA and Rockford, IL at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palm Springs Humane Society of the Desert, website: https://orphanpet.com/
