Darryl Glenn Barnes II was born on September 12, 1994, in Virginia Beach Virginia, and is the son of Darryl G. Barnes and Joselin Nieves - Barnes. He's most proud to be the big brother to a loving sister, Tyla M. Barnes. Darryl has always been a man committed to his family also sharing his life with his uncles, aunts and numerous fun-loving cousins. He never met a stranger and could always be counted on as a champion for the homeless and disadvantaged.
During his younger years, Darryl had a unique experience while living with his family in Okinawa Japan. While working on the family car with his dad, he was struck with inspiration for learning about automotive technology. This inspiration would later play a major part in his exciting future life.
After graduating from Cox Mill High School in Concord, North Carolina in 2012, Darryl went on to pursue studies in BMW Applied Science and also received his certification in Motorsports Management from Rowan Cabarrus Community College. But he was just getting started!
Darryl continued to follow his automotive passions by joining the fast-paced sport of NASCAR as Pit Crewman which quickly became his passion. Enjoying the "Need for Speed" and traveling the country with his teammates was his happiness and lasting memory for his family and friends. When not on the road with NASCAR, you could find him cruising the roadways on his motorcycle enjoying his approach to life which was living without limits! Darryl also shared his knowledge as an Automotive Service Advisor by providing countless travelers with safe automotive advice. But let's not forget about his other passions, his mother's Puerto Rican food, and meatloaf!
With all his exciting experiences, the highlight of Darryl's life was his baptism on November 27, 2022,at Nokia Church in Charlotte. His salvation, dedication to others, and passion for living without limits will always be lasting memories in the community and provide comfort to those who love him knowing he found Christ in a very special way.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 11:50 AM prior to the service. A Repast will be held at the funeral home immediately following the services.

I was blessed to have Darryl as a coworker for some time and he made a very positive impact on my life in a short amount of time. I started my days and ended my days with Darryl. He was the reason for my motivation. He helped me whenever I was having a rough day. He inspired me to work hard, not take anything personally, he stuck by me whenever I was having a hard situation with a customer. He was absolutely the best coworker. He was also an incredibly friend. Always there when I needed him. He was so dependable, kind, uplifting, and such a beautiful soul. He was so incredibly strong. I will carry his personality with me for the rest of my life. To his family and friends, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my prayers. Thank you Darryl for such a positive impact on my life and on others lives. There is no doubt in my mind that you are making new friends in heaven and watching over all of us.

Darryl, Jossie, and Family,

There are no words to express my sorrow for your great loss. Praying that the memories and special times shared with Darryl Jr will bring you healing as time goes on. Praying that the Father above will comfort in a mighty way as He understands the loss of a dear son. As a testament of Darryl Jr's baptism, believe he would want you to keep the faith until you are reunited at Jesus' return.
