Darryl Edward Spence

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Darryl Edward Spence, age 62, on Sunday March 23rd, 2025, in the presence and comfort of his family at his home in Roscommon, Michigan.
Darryl was born January 18, 1963, in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Lewis and Rena (Sharpe) Spence, the youngest of four children.
Darryl married his high school sweetheart, Carrie Hundley, on June 4, 1982. Darryl was "a jack of all trades" and lived in Waterford, Michigan, where he and Carrie raised their family. In 2014, Darryl and Carrie built their house in Roscommon, Michigan, where Darryl spent his remaining years.
Darryl enjoyed fast cars, boating, dirt bikes, trail rides, pizza, bird watching, hunting, fishing, and fixing things in his garage. If you needed something fixed you could count on Darryl and his garage to have the right tool and knowledge.
Darryl was a man of perseverance, wit, friendship, a sense of humor, and boundless love, always putting his family first.
Darryl's family was his absolute pride and joy and his biggest life accomplishment. He is survived by his loving wife, Carrie, of 42 years; children: Melissa (Travis) Albright, Jessica (Gary King) Spence, Trisha (Matthew) Tackett, Tyler (Sammie Campbell) Spence; mother-in-law, Leona Hundley; and "Pops" to thirteen grandchildren; brother-in-law, Larry Hundley; also surviving are siblings: Jim (Pat) Spence, Sheila (Mark) Radunz, Lisa (Dane) Vowell; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Darryl is preceded in death by his parents; two brother-in-laws Jeffrey and Brian; and father-in-law, Holley.
Darryl "Pops" will be deeply missed by those who knew him. His family finds peace and comfort to know he has many friends and family members welcoming him with open arms to his eternal heavenly home.
Darryl's family has chosen to remember him privately at this time. Currently there is no scheduled service.
