Darwin John Martindale Jr.
71, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.
He was born November 25, 1950, in Mount Clemens, the son of the late Darwin Sr. and Leona (McCarty) Martindale.
His marriage to Christine Moran was May 4, 1973, in Memphis.
Darwin owned and operated his own truck and later owned and operated his own towing company. He also worked in automotive repair. Darwin was a volunteer member of The Knights of Columbus for Richmond, Armada and Memphis. He loved The Detroit Lions, working and putzing around his pole barn and working on his Corvettes. Darwin loved animals, especially his Macaw Bird named Harley.
Surviving in addition to his wife Christine of 49 years, are three children, Darwin III (Kim) Martindale, Eddy (Jill Moore), and Jackie Martindale; two grandsons, Brent and Emmett; his sister, Kathleen (Floyd) Fraley; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard, and his dogs, Bo and Howie.
The family honors the memory of Darwin Jr. and invites you to visit and share memories Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 2:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond, with rosary devotion at 6:00 p.m. Rite of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Fr. Phil Ching, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, Richmond.
Memorials are suggested to "Wishes of the Family".
