Daryl Rahn Obituary

Cambridge, WI - Daryl A. Rahn, age 80 of Cambridge, WI passed away peacefully at Fort Atkinson Hospital in Fort Atkinson, WI on July 10, 2025. He was born on June 26, 1945 at Watertown Hospital in Watertown, WI. He was the son of Arthur and Eleanor (Lehmann) Rahn. He attended many one-room school houses when he was growing up. He graduated from Deerfield High School in May 1963.

Daryl married Donna Hommen on November 13, 1972 at the Church By The Side Of The Road in Rockton, IL. He was a truck driver for Hartwig Transit hauling mail to Chicago. On January 1974, he started running a farm owned by Skaar Brothers from Cottage Grove. He and Donna worked the farm for 11 years and raised their children there. He then started driving over the road for various companies for 25 years. He retired in January 2011. He bowled for many years and played Horseshoes for Liberty Corners Tavern. He loved fishing with Donna. They had a favorite cabin #6 at Kingfisher Resort in Chetek, WI. Another favorite place to fish was at the river in Marshall, WI. He loved hunting with his children and grandchildren. He was thrilled to get a buck during the last deer gun season at the age of 79. Daryl loved to sit in his swing on the patio and listen to the birds. He would wave to the neighbors and people driving by. He and Donna celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on November 13, 2022 with family and friends.

Daryl is survived by his wife Donna and children: Jodeen (David) Bitter and Stacey (Scott) Quam of Stoughton, Darin (Kari) Rahn of Deerfield, Denise (James) Rockney and Douglas (Stacy Fetherston) Rahn of Cambridge. Grandchildren: Steven Quam (Taylor Purcell), Matthew Rahn (Hailey Last), Sammi Quam, Nathan Rahn, Morgan Rockney, and Dalton Rockney. Great-Grandchildren: Jaxon, Aubree, and Baby Quam (due in September).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Eleanor Rahn and his In-laws, Rodger and Gerry Hommen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 10, 2025 at Lake Ripley Lanes in Cambridge from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
