Mr. Daryl Richard Schiefer, age 68, our dedicated, hardworking, caring, and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
Daryl was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on March 26, 1956, to Harvey & Bernice Schiefer (née Knoll). He was a lifetime resident of Millington and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He graduated from Millington High School with the Class of 1974. Through friends he met Linda Simek, the two dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage in 1983 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Together they shared countless memories, raised their children Amy and Ryan, and celebrated over 41 years of marriage. Before retirement, Daryl worked with General Motors for 27 years. He also proudly farmed on the Schiefer farm for most of his life. Daryl enjoyed the outdoors, fishing at Black Lake for sturgeon and walleye and hunting for coyote. In the summertime, he enjoyed cutting wood. Above all, Daryl was a family man and loved being a grandfather to his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Schiefer; daughter, Amy Schiefer; son, Ryan (Ashley) Schiefer; grandchildren: Hayden, Harper, and soon-to-be, Hudson Schiefer; brother, Thomas (Janice) Schiefer; sister, Joann Schiefer; sister-in-law, Susan Gunter; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Daryl was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey & Bernice Schiefer; and sister, Rhonda Schiefer.
Memorial services for Daryl will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.; visitation at church will begin at 10:00 a.m. and last until the time of service.
