David Andrie Obituary
David Lee Andrie, age 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Born April 28, 1937 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Son of Lucille (nee Kieras) and Stephen F. Andrzejewski/Andrie who was born in Russia and immigrated to the United States in 1905.
Dave graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1955. He served in the US Army for nearly two years before he was honorably discharged.
He has always loved to cook, so it was an obvious choice that he enjoyed many years in the restaurant and hospitality industry. He was employed by Holly’s where he worked his way up to District Manager overseeing several of their restaurants including the Marriott restaurant. Dave was instrumental in the opening of the original Holly’s Landing on Ann Street in Grand Rapids in 1968. He then managed the Charlevoix Club and lastly in 1993 he and his wife Shirley purchased and operated C’s Dogs N Dairy on 44th Street for over 20 years.
He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, fishing, spending time at the American Legion Post 208, and his many trips to Gun Lake Casino. David was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen & Lucille Andrie; siblings, Eugene Andrie, Lucille C. (Herbert) Russell; his loving wife of 34 yrs, Shirley (nee Beardsley); step-son, J. Michael Anthony; and companion Linda Thomas.
Dave is survived by children, David (late wife Carolyn), Christine, Catherine and Michele (Tom) Wyngarden; step-children, Tom (Kim) DePuit, Patti Moberly (late husband Mike); niece, Rosalie Russell of Sugarland, Texas; and several grandchildren, great-children and great-great grandchildren.
David chose cremation and requested no services as those who knew him knew he was a no fuss kind of guy. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Faith Hospice who was wonderful in helping David go home.
