In Loving Memory of David Allen Baker
August 22, 1986 – September 12, 2025
David Allen Baker, beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2025, at the age of 39. His life was a beautiful example of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family.
David was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and spent his early childhood in Tulsa, Oklahoma before settling in
Katy, Texas, where he spent the majority of his life. He graduated from Katy High School in 2005 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from Texas A&M University, Class of 2010-an accomplishment that reflected his brilliant mind and determination.
On June 17, 2017, David married the love of his life, Whitney Davey, in Houston, Texas. Together, they built a joyful and love-filled life, raising their precious daughter Avery, who was the absolute light of David's life. He was the epitome of a "girl dad"-sweet, attentive, and endlessly devoted. Whether taking Avery on weekend adventures, making her laugh with his infamous dad jokes, or simply being her biggest fan, David's love for her was limitless and unconditional.
David devoted 14 years to Pinnacle Engineering, having started there in 2011. His work ethic, intelligence, and dedication earned the respect of his colleagues and made a lasting impact in his field.
David had a wonderfully funny and caring spirit. He made those around him laugh with his quick wit and light-hearted sense of humor. He enjoyed watching Texas A&M football and cheering on the Houston Astros. In his downtime, he found joy in gaming on his computer, watching scary movies with Whitney, and spending meaningful time with family. His calming presence was often just what others needed.
David is survived by his loving wife, Whitney Baker; his daughter, Avery Baker; his mother, Virginia Baker; his brother, Brian Baker; half-brother Robert Edward Lee Baker III; half-sisters Anne Richerson and Marian Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Lee Baker Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 18th at 10:00 a.m. at Schmidt Funeral Home, 1344 W Grand Parkway S,
Katy, TX 77494. All who knew and loved David are welcome to attend and share in remembering the joy and light he brought into the world.
