Dear David,
You left us with such suddenness that there was no time for goodbyes or hugs.
Your beautiful blue eyes and white-haired ponytail will be more than a memory, because I clipped a curl today.
You loved coming with me to estate sales, flea markets and garage sales. You wanted to find "the good stuff" for yourself and for me.
You loved the challenges of playing poker with friends who have been together for 30-plus years. You took such great pleasure in winning over your family members -- any board game would do.
Music was such a joy to you, and you knew the words to all your faves. I'll never forget seeing the Trans-Siberian Orchestra with you.
Thank you for the delicious meals you so often cooked for me and the family. Baking with you was always fun. Your Christmas cookie decorations were artfully delicious.
The cottage at White Rock was such a special place for you to relax and play. You set up the gazebo cover every year; and always collected rocks for me.
David, yes, you had your challenges with life and struggled through them. Yet, you always came back to family. Your sense of family was large -- it included sometimes "torturous" aunts, uncles, your former sister-in law, cousins, cousins-in-law, and their kids, as well as a large bundle of friends.
Family gave you comfort and healing. You, in turn, "saved" me from my grief and sadness. We found joy and a fun life together.
To say that you loved your nieces and nephews is an understatement. All I have to do is look at photos of you holding our babies. You are always smiling and your face is beautiful to me. Your love was total and huge. Now that those babies are growing up and tall enough for you to see eye-to-eye, the jokes seemed never-ending.
Missing you your brother John, your sister Amy, and I will feel it deeply, in the extreme.
I'm so sorry you will no longer be "Driving Miss Daisy" or joking that your twins will be named Knuckle and Head!
Being your mom was something I loved, and I will see your beloved Hazel through her doggie years.
Your loving Mom Lynda,
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 3-8pm with a Funeral Service the following day starting at 11am at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile).
