Dave was my best pal in high school, locker mates, teammates, partners in adventure and misadventure. Coincidentally, we lived in the same lakefront house growing up, my family in the 1940s and his in the 1950s. What fun at sleepovers at my old home. We were sympatico. I introduced him to MAD magazine, and the Catholic church. He exposed me to increased awareness of nature, the environment, and all living things. His academic motivation was enhanced by realizing he had to help work his way through college. I visited him several times, at school and where he worked at summer industrial jobs. That impressed me as well as his management of fraternity house business.
Despite being separated all our lives by oceans and continents save for a brief period in DC, we've remained close pals all these years. He will remain there for the rest of my life, one to love, admire and cherish as a lifelong friend.

Very said to learn that Dave had passed. I worked for Dave at USAID. I was an administrative assistant at the time and Dave was the Ag Office Director. He was a hard working and very fair person. Everyone was heard and treated fairly. He never knew that I called him "Reds" but I did refer to him as that. He had a great laugh and made the best eggnog. Even tho he was hard at work saving the AG world, he made sure we had work-life-balance. I remember the boys coming in to work. I had a few conversations with Dave over the years but I knew he stayed in touch with my former supervisor Mildred so I always could catch up. I´m glad I had the pleasure of working with and knowing Dave. I´m going to see if i can locate some photos of our good times at USAID. God Bless the Bathrick family
