I´m so sorry to hear of David´s passing. We had so many fun times during our school years. He was funny, kind and generous. We kept up with each other in recent years on a message system and he always sent me funny stories and anecdotes. He had a contagious laugh and wonderful sense of humor. He was one of the few kids in school who had a car in high school and several of us would pile in to his car for lunch to go eat McDonald´s 5/$1.00 cheeseburgers! I´ll never forget him. May he RIP until we meet again.

I met David in 1970 and we have been friends ever since. David was affectionally known by all as "Big-Bird". David graduated from Canutillo High School in 1975, a predominately Hispanic school. It was never difficult to find him in a crowd because he was always the tallest. Even though David moved away from Canutillo after graduation his heart always kept a string to the area and his friends, always letting us know what part of the country he was in and what he was doing in his life. He once said to me, "I'm just a rolling stone". He never lost his appetite for Mexican food and would always request a Mexican plate off the menu, because he said it had a little bit of everything. There was not a person who did not like or want to be around David. David was my friend, and he called me his friend. I will miss our monthly telephone conversations. His goodbyes to me always ended with "HACIENDA MY FRIEND" and his laughter would be the last thing I heard before the call ended.
Until I see you again, tu amigo, Peter Gutierrez.
