David R. Carbaugh, 77, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday afternoon, February 14, 2022 at Wellspan York Hospital. Born March 20, 1944 in Welsh Run, PA, he was a son of the late Earl and Mary Jane Carbaugh. He owned and operated DC Pattern and Tooling in Chambersburg from 1988 until selling the company in 2007. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 842, Hume-McNeil-Byers AmVets Post 224, and Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, all in Chambersburg. He enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR, hunting, fishing, cookouts, and spending time with family and friends.
David is survived by his wife, Charlotte Crusey Carbaugh, whom he married April 21, 1962; three children, Tracy McIntosh and husband Bob, Wanda Reichard and husband Jeff, and Andy Yocum and wife Tammy; nine grandchildren, Dustin Carbaugh and wife Kandi, Kira Reichard, Tandra Yocum, April Yocum, Brandon Yocum and wife Jennifer, Mark Yocum, Devin Ambrose, Britton Ambrose, and Casey Ambrose; four great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kasey, Kenzee, and Jaelin Carbaugh; and great-great-grandchildren, Carson Carbaugh and Wyatt Buselli. He is also survived by his sister, Earlene Short; and four brothers, Gene Carbaugh and wife Carol, Harold Carbaugh and wife Donna, Guy Carbaugh and wife Dorothy, and Richard Carbaugh and wife Debbie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Douglas C. Carbaugh on March 2, 2003; a sister, Edna Evetts, and five brothers, Frank, Harry, Paul, and Kenny Carbaugh, and a brother who died at birth.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, February 21, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Jan Diaz will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Sunday and from Noon until services begin at 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
