David Andrew Catalano, age 88, of Venice, FL, formerly of North Andover, MA, passed away suddenly in Venice on August 8, 2024. He was the beloved husband for 41 years of Joanne (Byrnes) Catalano.
Born in Chelsea, MA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Phyllis (Simonelli) Catalano. He was raised and educated in Chelsea, MA and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. He then attended Boston College and received his Bachelor's Degree.
David worked as a hospital administrator at Massachusetts General Hospital for many years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, softball, travel to Italy, Bonaire, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, all of New England. A friendly man with a great sense of humor, he is fondly remembered for his storytelling, cooking and his homemade limoncello. He loved spending time with family and friends and dining out.
In addition to his devoted wife, Joanne, David is lovingly survived by his children: David A. Catalano, Jr. of Bowie, MD, Robert J. Catalano and his wife Ann of North Reading, MA, Barbara L. Ash of Haverhill, MA, Colleen C. Colby and her husband Steven of Andover, MA. He is further survived by nine grandchildren, a brother, Joseph R. "Bud" Catalano and his wife Angela of Winchester, MA, and many nieces and nephews. His brother, Andrew J. Catalano, Jr., predeceased him.
Arrangements are incomplete at this time.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Tidewall Hospice of Venice, 220 Wexford Blvd., Venice, FL 34293.
