"Obituary was loving written by his family."
David Aaron Clark, age 46 of Sugar Grove, formerly of Oswego, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in his sleep on Monday, March 13, 2023. He was on a fishing trip in celebration of his birthday with his lifelong friend.
He was born March 13, 1977, in Winfield to Joe Alan and Dorothy nee Tibbs Clark.
He graduated from Oswego High School in 1995. Dave went on to have three children Braeden Michael Clark in 2004 and Kathryn (Katie) Marie Clark in 2006. He met Lisa, the love of his life, on September 15, 2018. They waited their whole lives to find each other. They were the couple that was made for each other. Everything about them complimented the other; they were the couple that made each other better together. He met Lisa on a blind date and the rest is history. He and Lisa, with their children, lived life to the fullest. Traveling together was their favorite thing to do. Their travels took them to New Orleans and Bourbon Street, Mexico, Costa Rica, Colorado hiking, Michigan beaches, Las Vegas, Wisconsin cabins, Florida's heat, South Carolina, Indiana, and numerous destinations in Illinois.
Dave worked for Orkin in Chicago as a pest control technician. His customers and coworkers and his boss who was his close friend will miss him dearly. His customers would cancel their service if he was off and wait until he was available. He is irreplaceable. He was a friend to all.
Dave loved time with his children. Braeden shared confidence, charisma, his old soul, humor and his love of life. One of his greatest joys was watching his son play college volleyball. Katie was Dave's little bird; she was the light of his life. Katie took on his resilience, his infectious smile and she knows just how proud he was of her. Dave received Avrie as a gift, Lisa gave him another soul to love. Avrie was given a dad to love and unfortunately to miss hard too soon. He was fortunate enough to send two of his children to college this fall and was so proud. Katie will follow in their footsteps after high school.
Dave and Lisa frequented karaoke weekly. They made great friends through their love of singing. He had a love for cooking and grilling, he was a true foodie at heart. He had many friends that shared his love; they were the "Fun Bunch" and was always whipping up a new recipe. He had a recreation volleyball team at Suzy's Bar and Grill and his team were 2022 season Champions. He also enjoyed fishing with his father and playing Frisbee golf. He has so many friends he has met along the way; he loved all people.
Knowing Dave Clark is to love him. He is larger than life. He is kind, crazy smart, a humanitarian, a lover, a "life coacher" for all, and an amazing hug giver. If you have never received a hug from him, you are lucky, only because you will not have to miss his hugs so much. Dave lived in the house of a thousand questions, he answered every one of them and loved every minute of it.
He is survived by his partner Lisa Marie (Nilles) Gunderson; three children Braeden Clark, Katie Clark and Avrie Gunderson; parents Joe Alan and Dorothy Clark; siblings James (Jennifer) Clark, Lynda (Steve) Luth, Ellen Clark, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and too many friends to list.
He is preceded in death by his infant son "Baby James" and his grandparents.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Sunday, March 19, 2023 11:00 A.M. until time of memorial service at 2:00 P.M. at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
