David "Bret" Comstock, 60, formally of Haltom City, Texas, passed away on April under the care of Hospice of Wichita Falls.
Services are pending at this time.
Bret was born on December 8, 1964, in Arlington, Texas to David Marshall and Sonya (Wright) Comstock. He had a special gift as an infant, he could say words when he was three months, when he was six months old he could talk and by the time he was a year old he was having full conversations. He attended Haltom City School and graduated from Haltom City High School in 1982 and then attended Tarrant County College. Bret spent most of his time in Haltom City. He would help his dad in the summer in Charlie, Texas on the family farm. Bret never met a stranger and enjoy hunting and fishing with his dad. He also enjoyed playing golf and cookouts and grilling with his friends. He loved sitting outside around the campfire at night with family and friends. Bret was a huge fan of the TCU Horn Toads. He thought there was no one else who could duplicate his dad's fried potatoes and he loved his step-mothers wild plum jelly and her fried catfish. Bret worked 15 years at Kroger Grocery as a produce manager. Due to illness he was unable to continue working for the last four years.
His beloved companion Shay Wildes of 15 years, stayed by his side through it all. He relocated to Lake Granbury with his beloved cat Callie Mae. She passed away after Bret was hospitalized. She passed away not knowing what happened to him because her heart was so broken. He and his best friend Ron Hill spent endless time together throughout the years.
Bret was preceded in death by his mother, Sonya (Wright) Comstock; grandparents, Bill and Julia Comstock, Harry and Linnie Wright.
Survivors include his beloved companion of 15 years, Shay Wildes of Fort Worth; father, David M. Comstock of Charlie; step-mom, Irene Comstock of Charlie; sister, Pamela Greenroyd and her companion Weldon Nichols of Holliday; step-brother, Britton Ouellette and wife Brittney of San Antonio; nephew, Lleyton Ouellette of San Antonio; niece, Avery Ouellette of San Antonio; several cousins.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Lake Granbury Medical Center as well as Hospice of Wichita Falls.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Lake Granbury Medical Center or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
