David Costilow Obituary

Sheffield Village-David L. Costilow, 73, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 with his loving family by his side at The Woods at French Creek in Avon, OH.
David was born to his loving parents, Eugene and Kathleen (nee Davis) Costilow, in Lorain, OH on May 31, 1950. He graduated from Admiral King High School, Class of 1968. David proudly served in the National Guard for 6 years. He married his love, Rosalie Ann (nee Hornyak) on November 11, 1972 and they raised their 3 children together. David worked at B&O railroad and then Lake Terminal railroad as a machinist until he retired in 2010. He enjoyed hunting, especially duck hunting, and was a member of the NRA. David carved duck decoys, won several awards for them, and was a member of ODCCA. He also enjoyed watching old western tv shows and movies. David was a Mason with the Black River Lodge #786.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Kathleen Costilow; and brother, Dennis Costilow.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rosalie Costilow; children, Matthew (Carla) Costilow, Jeremiah (Traci) Costilow and Katie (Chris) Marvin; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Don (Patty) and Dean (Christine) Costilow; and many nieces and nephews.
All services are private. Donations may be made in David's memory to a charity of donor's choice. Funeral arrangements by Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Lorain, (440) 244-1961. Online condolences may be sent using www.rsgfuneralhome.com.
