Tom D Costilow, a cherished soul known for his generosity and loving spirit, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 9, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on June 29, 1967, in Rhode Island, Tom was the beloved son of Mary Jo Costilow and the late James Costilow. He grew up in Riverside County, where he later settled and built his life.
A true family man, Tom was the devoted husband of the late Melanie, with whom he lovingly raised three sons, Josh, Jacob, and Adam. He found love again with his second wife, Melissa, and together they welcomed his daughter, Alexis. In addition to his role as a father, Tom was a doting grandpa to Gavin and Asher Mocny, a supportive brother to Frank Costilow, and a fun-loving uncle to Bryon and Karissa Costilow.
Tom's hardworking nature was evident in his career as a truck driver, a profession he dedicated over 30 years to with unwavering commitment. His work ethic was unmatched, and he was revered by his colleagues for his reliability and skill. Beyond his professional life, Tom's passions were manifold. He was an enthusiastic motorcycle rider, finding solace and freedom on the open road. His love for the outdoors was apparent to all who knew him, as he seized every chance to be in nature, whether it was for a simple walk or an adventurous outing.
Family gatherings were a source of immense joy for Tom. He cherished the moments spent with his loved ones, sharing stories, laughter, and creating memories that would last a lifetime. His role as a provider and protector was taken to heart, and he ensured that his family always felt secure and cared for.
Tom's hands were rarely still, as he was incredibly handy and could fix almost anything that needed repair. This skill was just one facet of his generous nature, as he often lent his talents to help friends, family, and neighbors. His home in Corona, CA, was a testament to his love for collecting various oddities, trinkets, and knick-knacks, each piece holding a special story or memory.
Those who were fortunate to know Tom would describe him as a man of great character-handy, generous, and loving. His absence will leave an irreplaceable void in the hearts of many, especially his surviving family members: his mother, Mary Jo; his brother, Frank; his sons, Josh, Jacob, and Adam; his daughter, Alexis; his niece and nephew, Bryon and Karissa; and his grandchildren, Gavin and Asher.
Tom's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with dedication, joy, and an abundance of love. He will be deeply missed, yet his legacy will continue to live on through the lives of those he touched. Tom D Costilow's memory will forever be a beacon of light for his family, a reminder of the strength and tenderness that defined his very essence.
