David D. Demos

David Dean Demos, 97, of Dublin, Ohio, passed from this life on January 25, 2022. His beloved wife of 74 years, Mildred Louise Harris Demos, was laid to rest this past August. He is survived by two siblings, Helen Johnson of Venice, Floriida, and Miriam Bradley of Delaware Ohio, and four living children: Dean P. Demos (Patty); Carol Huntzinger (Ed); Gary D. Demos (Linda); and Susan D. Kennedy (Dr. Wayne). David and Mildred's youngest son, David Gregory Demos, passed away in 1993. They had eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
David was one of six children born in West Palm Beach, Florida, to a hard working Greek immigrant and a well-heeled young Oberlin graduate. Always the one with the best memory, David was often consulted by family members about details of the family's past. With deep roots in the Pentecostal church, David's devotion to God and Biblical standards was exemplary. He would recount life-changing experiences in the Holy Ghost during and after his service to our military after WWII. While raising his young family, he was employed as a union electrician and eventually became an estimator and contractor. As president of Demos Electric, he was known for quality and integrity. He concurrently served in church leadership roles and pastored Jesus' Way Fellowship of Columbus. Always eager to sing, he and Mildred would daily recall meaningful Christian songs from their past. Her on the grand piano and he in his easy chair, many Hospice staff members would always get a free concert.
Because of his problem-solving engineering abilities, David could fix nearly anything. He designed and constructed a geothermal heating system for his home, as well as many other practical inventions.
Most of all, David loved the Lord Jesus Christ. His enduring faith was an inspiration to family and friends alike.
Funeral services will be conducted by O. R. Woodyard Co., Northwest Chapel, 2990 Bethel Rd., Columbus, Ohio, 43220. The family will receive visitors Friday, January 28, from 4-6 p.m., and on Saturday, January 29, from 9-10 a.m. A celebration service of his life will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., with graveside committal at Alton-Darby Cemetery to follow.
