David A. Diener

David A. Diener, of Sterling Heights, passed away on December 12, 2025 at the age of 87. David is the cherished husband for 68 years of Geraldine; the loving father of David (Elizabeth) Diener and Kimberly (Darryl) Vert; the adored grandfather of Justin, Evan (Meredith), Renee, Luke (Marilyn), Tarah, Emily, and Ian; the dear great-grandfather of Felice, Murphie, Isla, and Donovan; the dear brother of Ronald (the late Jean), the late Corrine (survived by Clarence) Zienert, the late Leslie (the late Dorothy), and the late Timothy (the late Janet). David is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After returning from the armed forces, he worked at General Motors, and proudly worked there until his retirement. David was also an avid runner and marathoner, completing multiple Detroit Marathons over the years.

He adored his wife, Geraldine, and she was his world. David also cherished his grandchildren and deeply enjoyed his time spent with them. Whether it was picking them up from school, taking them to soccer practice, or cheering them on during their games, he was always there for them. He will be dearly missed.

David's family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks East of Van Dyke), Utica. Funeral Service will continue on Saturday, December 20 --Times-- at Trinity Lutheran Church, 45160 Van Dyke Ave, Utica.
