David Engelholm, 69, of Troy, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2025. A private memorial service will be held at a later date to honor his life and legacy.
Born in Rosebud, Texas, on June 4, 1955, David was the beloved son of Roy Lee and Joyce Engelholm. He was a man of simple joys and deep roots, finding happiness in nature, hobbies, and most of all, his family. He had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, and he found camaraderie in friendly games of pool and darts. He also loved dancing and could often be found enjoying classic western films.
Above all, David’s greatest source of pride and joy was his family. He cherished his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and his life was a testament to the love he held for them.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee and Joyce Engelholm.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Melissa Ortiz and husband Nick, Amber Craft and husband Chris, and Dusty Engelholm; his sister, Kathy Engelholm; his ten grandchildren: Rachel Hubbard, Kolby Schumacher, Destiny Noska, Melody Schumacher, Bailey DeHerrera, Hunter Fowler, Marcus Ortiz, McKinley Ortiz, Riley Craft, and Wyatt Craft; and four great-grandchildren: Levi Hubbard, Kinsley Gonzales, Liam Reed, and Oaklyn Noska.
