David Eppley Obituary
David L. Eppley, age 82, of Barberton, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024. Born on January 2, 1942, in Barberton, Ohio, David lived a life filled with love, dedication and service to his family and community.
He was a proud citizen of Barberton, where he spent his life contributing to the community he loved. He was a dedicated employee of PPG Industries, retiring after more than 20 years of service. His commitment to civic duty was evident through his active membership of the Civitan Club and the Loyal Order of Moose in Barberton.
David is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 29 years, Phyllis Eppley; his father, Herman Eppley; his mother, Margory Black; and his grandson, James West.
He is survived by his daughter, Margie Sack; and his sons: David Eppley (John Evans) and Randy (Polly) Eppley. David was a cherished grandfather to Joel (Kari) Eppley, Rachel (Andrew) Culpepper, Ryan (Christina) West, Michael Eppley, Sarah Haenftling (Lowell Osborne), Elizabeth (Shawn) Greenwald, Caleb Eppley (Megan Fern), and Emmanuel Eppley. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Jacob, Kaleb, Natali, Dominic, Aubrey, Devin, Elissa, Connor, Keira, Ethan, Wesley, Aubree, Nolan, Evelyn, Maizey, Nyxen and Jamie as well as his great-great-grandchildren: Emberlyn and Dalilah.
David's life was a testament to the power of family, love and commitment. He will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom and the enduring love he shared with those around him.
David L. Eppley's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. May he rest in peace.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton, Ohio 44203. Calling Hour will be held the next day at 12:00 pm and the Funeral Service will start at 1:00 pm at the Funeral Home, followed immediately by the graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery, 2580 Romig Road, Akron, Ohio 44320.
