OXFORD-David Joshua Fitch, 14, of Oxford, Indiana passed away Friday, November 15, 2024. He was an eighth-grade student at Benton Central Junior High School.
He was born August 25, 2010, in Lafayette, Indiana to Christopher David Fitch and Kimberly Jo Newnum Fitch.
He is survived by his parents, of Oxford; sister, Emily Fitch and brother, Nathan Fitch; grandparents, Sandy and David Meadows of Milligan, Pat Conner of Clinton and Patty Fitch of Fairview; aunts and uncles, Mark and Diane Newnum, Sandi and Zach Doan, Matthew and Tiffany Newnum and Jessica Kelsheimer; several cousins and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, David Earl Newnum and Gary Francis Fitch.
He was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church where he was baptized on August 25, 2013. He loved the outdoors, sports, spending time with family and working with his dad and grandpa. He participated in many sports including baseball, soccer, golf, football and track. He was also a Chicago Cubs fan.
Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, November 20, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with Pastor Steve Crum officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation is 4-8 pm Tuesday at Gooch Funeral Home.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Oxford Church Camp Fund via the Benton County Community Foundation, PO Box 351, Fowler, IN 47944 or at bentoncf.org in his memory.

David was a great friend of mine when we went to Oxford United Methodist Church, not so much in recent years but he was still an amazing person to me and everyone. We will all miss him.
