Rena Evelyn (White) Swaim, 90, of Greenwood, Indiana and formerly of Rockville, passed away on April 15, 2025, at Greenwood Village South. She was born on June 8, 1934, in Elizabethton, Tennessee, the daughter of George and Lucy (Furchess) White.
On September 1, 1956, in Rockville she married Donald Clay Swaim. They shared 60 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on September 22, 2016. Rena enjoyed designing and creating jewelry, cooking, drawing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Rena is survived and missed by daughter, Donna (Stephen) Lindley of Bloomingdale; two sons, Kevin (Melanie) Swaim of Greenwood and Tracy Swaim of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Brad Lindley, Stephanie (Travis) Studebaker, Cody Swaim, Tyler Swaim; seven great grandchildren, Connor (Hunner) and Aidan Crum, Scout, Alexis and Reagan Lindley, and Sommer and Cadence Studebaker; a sister, Georgia Buckles of Elizabethton, Tennessee, brother-in-law, James (Keitha) Swaim of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Rondle, James, Carl, Garrett, Robert, and sisters Helen Richardson and Ida Lewis, and sister-in-law Rosemary (Fred) Jackman.
Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 22, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville. Burial will follow in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville. Visitation is from 12 noon until 2:00 pm on Tuesday. Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to the Parke County Community Foundation, PO Box 276, Rockville, IN or Parke-Vermillion Humane Society, PO Box 293, Newport, IN 47933 in her memory.
