Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. David Hugh Fletcher, Jr., 87, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 18, 2023 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Danny McIlveene officiating. Interment will follow in the Caney Baptist Church Cemetery in Chatham, LA.
Mr. David was born on July 23, 1936, in West Monroe, LA and passed away on September 15, 2023, at his residence in West Monroe, LA. He was a member of Community Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA. Mr. Fletcher worked as an Electrician for Pineville Kraft Paper Mill. He enjoyed volunteering at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, fishing, gardening, playing Mexican Train, and square dancing. David is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Fletcher;
and by his sisters, Bobbie Osborne, and Melba Jean Weeks.
Survivors include his daughters, Sherry Avitabile and husband, Bob, Ellen McCain and husband, Harold, Jessica Fletcher, Dodie Neal and husband, Mike, and Sheryl West-Fritz; sister, Jane McGee and husband, Burl; brother, Mike Fletcher and wife, Carolyn; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family members.
Pallbearers will be Justin Mouledous, Tyler Fletcher, Gary Smith, Mike Neal, Jason Fletcher, and Joey Fletcher.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Memorials may be made to the Community Baptist Church or to the Alzhiemer's Association.
