David Martin Flowers, Jr. of Cobbtown died Friday, December 30, 2022 at Candler County Hospital in Metter.
Mr. Flowers grew up in Glennville, GA, moved to Savannah where he attended Jenkins High School before going into the military, and spent his retirement years in Cobbtown, GA. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic having worked for the Georgia Ports Authority and Peeples Industries. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. His favorite hobby was fishing in local rivers and ponds with his brothers, his dad, and his stepson. In his younger years he also enjoyed auto racing with his brother Emory.
Surviving are his sister, June Flowers McMillian (William), Savannah, his brothers, Emory Gene Flowers (Veronica), Savannah, and Carrol Wade Flowers (Brenda), Brooklet, sister-in-law Betty Flowers, Glennville, brother-in-law Johnny Roberson, Reidsville, his stepson Kenny Cook, Savannah, and several nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, of Cobbtown, is in charge of the arrangements.

Uncle Dave was truly my best friend, we would spend hours by the power engaging in the most joyful conversation. Wish a could of had one last "party" you would call them even though it was just me and you. I love you so much, going to miss you old man. Rest easy
