David John Ford

David John Ford, age 81, of Jackson Twp., passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He was born March 31, 1944, in Los Angeles, California.
David was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Massey.
David retired from Yellow Freight. He was an avid and accomplished golfer. David and his wife shared a love of adventure, traveling near and far to experience life to the fullest - from zip lining and hot air balloons to helicopter rides and countless other journeys that filled their hearts with joy.
Everyone who met him, loved him. David will be remembered for his strength, humor, and unwavering love for his family.
David's heart belonged to his family. They were his greatest pride and truest joy. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary (Childs) Ford; daughter and son-in-law, Veronica Ford Knapp and Michael Knapp; daughter, Erica Ford; son and daughter-in-law, David and Erina (O'Toole) Ford; and granddaughters, Kylie and Kendra Ford.
He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Denise Ford and his mother, Viola (DiMenna) Ford.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - JACKSON CHAPEL.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 11 A.M. at the funeral home. There will be visitation prior beginning at 10 A.M.
