With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of David Roy Funk - a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and healer - who departed peacefully on June 1st, 2025, in Roseville, CA.
Born in Torrance, California, on October 15, 1952, David lived a life grounded in purpose, passion, and presence. For more than 20 years, he practiced as a Chiropractor in Sacramento, where he touched the lives of countless patients through his care, intuition, and dedication to natural healing. His work went far beyond a profession - it was a calling, led by integrity and a genuine desire to serve.
David was a lifelong learner and teacher whose interests’ spanned health and nutrition, personal and spiritual development, American legal history, technology, and economics. He found joy in sharing what he learned and helping others grow.
A man of deep insight and unwavering curiosity, David lived as a seeker of truth - challenging norms, asking bold questions, and inspiring others to see a different world. Those who knew him will remember his warm presence, his ability to listen deeply, and his balance of strength and genuine compassion.
David cherished his role as a father and grandfather. His family was his greatest joy and his deepest source of pride. He is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene, and their children:
Marinda Griese, her husband Christopher Griese and their sons Cole Griese, and Tristan and Trey Hall (Livermore, CA).Janelle Bertler and her sons John and Evan (Roswell, GA).Ryan Funk and his wife Heather (Roseville, CA).Christopher Funk and his wife Irene (Houston, TX).Kendra Menotti, her husband Rob, and their daughter Logan (League City, TX).David lived with intention guided by the compass of his heart. He saw not only the world as it was but also as it could be- and through that vision, he made a lasting impact. His power of presence, gentle wisdom, and enduring belief in the goodness and potential of others will continue to resonate in the lives he touched.
A private memorial celebration will be held with family and friends on October18th to honor David’s life, his spirit, and the legacy of love and insight he leaves behind. For more information, please reach out to the family directly.
