David Gentile, age 69, of Gibsonia, passed on February 3, 2024. Born in Beaver, PA on August 4, 1954, son of the late Guerino and Mary D'Eramo Gentile. Beloved husband for 49 years of Angela B. Rutiri Gentile. Loving father of Alicia M. Laswell (Stuart) and David W. Gentile (Emori). Brother of Lou Gentile (Carol), Bill Gentile (Esther), and Rob Gentile (Melanie). Brother-in-law of Silvino Rutiri, Arthur Rutiri, Louise Cogar. Dear grandfather of Maverick James Gentile.
Friends received Tuesday 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday 9-10:30 a.m. at Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, Sts. Martha and Mary Parish. Interment will be held in Allegheny County Memorial Park.
David was a U.S. Army Veteran and a graduate of Duquesne University with a Master's degree in Psychology. He was a practicing psychologist for 33 years and owner of Achievement Specialists, Inc. A devout parishioner at St. Catherine of Sweden Church, David was a cantor and volunteered as a family counselor. He also was a counseling volunteer with the Red Cross and with area prisons. David was founder of In His Name Global Mission Support Corporation, where he was active for over nine years. He also provided financial support for orphans in dire need of food, housing, school supplies and medical costs in Tanzania, where he visited to provide community support.
