Julia Theresa Curran, 85, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Naples, FL. Born on January 19, 1940, in Pittsburgh, PA, Theresa (as she was affectionately known), was the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Julia T. (née Conroy) Gallagher. A proud native of Pittsburgh, Theresa was a graduate of St. Lawrence O'Toole High School and later attended Duquesne University.
Theresa began her professional career as the manager of a Radiology group at Southside Hospital. On August 17, 1963, she married John William Malley, and together they began their family. Following John's untimely passing in 1977, Theresa courageously returned to the workforce to support her young family. She served as the secretary to the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh before moving into the corporate sector as the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Finance-and later to the President-at Blawnox Corporation. She later completed her working years at Passavant Hospital as a medical transcriptionist in the Emergency Room, retiring in 2005.
On August 19, 1988, she married William J. Curran III in Pittsburgh. In 2017, they moved to Bonita Springs, FL. There, she became active in the community through her involvement with the Café of Life and was a devoted parishioner at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
Theresa will be remembered for her unwavering faith, strength in the face of adversity, and enduring love for her family. Her greatest pleasure was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and "Nanny". She will be remembered for her lifelong friendships, her love for travel, and her gourmet cooking. She is survived by her beloved husband, William J. Curran III of Bonita Springs, FL; her four devoted daughters, Mary Pat Restelli (the late Rick Restelli) of Bonita Springs, FL, Kathleen J. Correll (Jim) of Cranberry Township, PA, Dr. Erin E. Malley Miller (Lee) of Champion, PA, and Julie A. Pinkava (Rick) of Medina, OH; her cherished stepdaughter, Lisa M. Pilotta (Vince) of Pittsburgh, PA; ten loving grandchildren, Caitlin Smith (Kory), Alexandra Haynes (Greg), Jonathan Restelli (Heidi), Anna Pilotta, Emma Pinkava, Mary Kathryn Pilotta, Benjamin Correll, Ricky Pinkava, Rebecca Pilotta, and Christopher Correll; and her great-granddaughter, Haven Rose Haynes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John William Malley, and her brother, Joseph P. Gallagher (Barbara), who passed away on February 22, 2025.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate Theresa's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at St. Kilian Church at 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Twp, PA.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Café of Life in Bonita Springs, FL. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA, in a private family service.
