David Gilbert Obituary
David was born September 11, 1983, to John Preston Gilbert and Pamela Wyatt in Painesville, Ohio.
David graduated from Countryside High School in Clearwater, Florida from the class of 2002. He then attended the University of South Florida from 2002 – 2006 earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications. David continued his education at Stetson College of Law where he earned his Doctor of Law (Juris Doctor) in 2010. Upon graduation David founded The Gilbert Law Firm in St. Petersburg, Florida.
David was affectionately known by his family and many friends as Davey or Dave. He was a wonderful person with a smile that touched the hearts of anyone who knew him.
He was a loving son, brother, husband, nephew, cousin, and friend. He enjoyed living life and he had many interests.
David was a talented artist and versatile musician. He could play the drums, guitar, trumpet, and bass; and he had a band in his youth called Davey and the Dekes. Furthermore, he loved wakeboarding, fishing, boating, and travel.
He is survived by Pamela Wyatt (mother), Michael Wyatt (stepfather), John Gilbert (brother), Kimberly Wyatt (sister), Christine Gilbert (stepmother), Taylor Gilbert (brother), Christy Wyatt Bruner (stepsister), and Danica Sanson (former wife). David was preceded in death by his father, John Preston Gilbert.

I was one of Mr. Gilbert's clients, he was a one of the best attorneys that I have ever used. He personally worked with his clients, charged really fair prices, worked out payment plans for the needs of his clients, seemed like a very caring person.
I will remember his graciousness, and how he went above and beyond to help me with my traffic legal issues.
There are not many attorneys like him around at all, he seemed to be a great person, I am sure that he is missed.

I met Dave when we were in school at Stetson. Fairly early on, it was apparent we were kindred spirits. As it turned out, we both rented in the same apartment complex. Dave was married to Danica then. Dave was an entrepreneur and was starting and selling businesses even when he was in law school. Dave started working at a law firm while we were in school, learning his trade. After I graduated and moved away, Dave always made time to meet up with me for lunch when I would visit St. Pete. I was devastated when I found out that Dave passed away. I will miss his sense of humor and down-to-earth personality.

I've known David since I was a little girl. He reached out to me last summer to catch up, He told me he was going somewhere for about a month, and we would get together when he got back. We went back-and-forth on making times to meet, And then I never heard from him. It breaks my heart to hear this news.Great guy! Rest in peace
