David Michael Golias, 42, went home to the Lord on November 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with congestive heart failure. He was born on January 26, 1983, in Akron, Ohio, to Dave and Sandi Golias.
David had the biggest heart — both figuratively and literally. He was a devoted father and fiancé, a dedicated son and brother, and a friend to anyone who needed one. Wise and endlessly creative, David’s wit, inventive spirit, and unmistakable sense of humor brought warmth and laughter to every room he entered.
He found joy in the simplest moments: time spent with family and friends, cruising on his motorcycle, and listening to Eminem and Tupac on repeat. Those who loved him knew him for his remarkable ingenuity—his ability to breathe new life into broken things and his gift for finding clever solutions to any problem. David shared his wisdom freely, always ready to help, teach, or encourage.
David’s memory will remain in our hearts until we meet him again in Heaven.
He is survived by his fiancé, Shelby Pompeo, and his children, Devon (his dood) and Camryn Golias (his angel princess), and William and Bella Simms. He is also survived by his siblings, Daniel (Laura) Golias, Drew (Kaitlyn) Golias, and Sami (Jordan) Miller; his grandparents, George and Jo Anne Golias; and many close cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as his beloved dogs, Snoopy and Charlie.
Calling hours will be held Friday November 21st from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at Hopkins Lawver UNIONTOWN Funeral home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, Uniontown, Ohio 44685. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday November 22nd, 10:30 am, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2952 Edison Street NW, Uniontown 44685, with Father Simon Mino and Pastor Happy Peterson celebrating. A meal and celebration of life will be held at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, 2121 Smith Kramer, following the graveside committal at Greenlawn Cemetery in Uniontown. Friends and family are welcome and encouraged to come and share memories. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to David’s Memorial Fund.
