On Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 8:26 PM, David Hobbs, 68, of Crockett's Bluff, Arkansas, passed away. He was the fourth child born to the late Archie and Louella Hobbs.
David attended Key School and later transferred to DeWitt High School in Arkansas.
At a young age, David accepted Christ into his life and reaffirmed his faith as an adult. David attended church and believed in God, and was a member of Outreach Ministry.
While David had many choices in life, when he met Shellie in 1989, she became his only choice.
David embraced the role of father figure to Shellie's two children, Donny Chatman and Darlene Washington. In 1995, their bouncing baby boy, Devonte Hobbs, was born, followed in 1997 by their beautiful bundle of love, Daveyonna Hobbs.
David asked Shellie for her hand in marriage in 1998. David was a devoted husband, father, provider, and grandfather.
David worked for Vanguard Builders for over 25 years, taking early retirement due to a stroke.
David has now taken God's unchanging hand, where his body is whole again-free from pain, suffering, or sadness. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents, Archie and Louella Hobbs; and his siblings, Willie Hobbs Sr., Ester Williams, and Johnny Hobbs.
David leaves to cherish his memory of his loving ex-wife and only wife, Shellie, of Tulsa; two sons, Donny (Crea) Chatman of Tulsa, and Devonte (Jamila) Hobbs of Tulsa; daughters, Darlene (Julius) Washington of Tulsa, and Daveyonna Hobbs of Tulsa; nephew Willie Jean Hobbs of Little Rock; and a host of other nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
