David Austin Hunsaker, known by his wife as "Sweetie," was a charismatic ray of light who illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to cross his path. Born on July 29, 1958, in Brigham City, Utah, David embraced life with an infectious zest. He was a man of many talents-a witty conversationalist, a compassionate friend, and a loving family man. David's life was a testament to the scripture in the Book of Mormon, "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God" (Mosiah 2:17). His service to his family and community embodied this verse beautifully.
David's career in insurance with the Farm Bureau was marked by his diligence and determination. A magna cum laude graduate in finance and economics from Utah State, he was a testament to the power of hard work and dedication. His love for music was evident as he played the trumpet in his high school and college bands. In retirement, David's passion for life did not wane; he enjoyed attending rock concerts, playing games, spending time in Florida at Disney and Universal Parks, and watching old sitcoms on lazy days. He cherished going to Lagoon and attending plays with his beloved wife, Sheryl, whom he married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 8, 1996.
David was a devoted son, husband, father, and brother. His love for his family was paramount, and he tirelessly cared for his mother and sister following the deaths of their spouses. His dedication to his children was evident in the miles he traveled to be with them and the memorable experiences he curated. Those who survive him, including his wife Sheryl; his son Kurtis; step-children Suzanne and Tyler; and sister-in-law Nona, and 5 grandchildren, will forever remember his humor, kindness, and unwavering love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellen and Martell, his son, Raymond, his brothers Curtis and Doug, and his sister Kathy and brother-in-law Robert.
Please join us in celebrating the life of David Hunsaker on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 6660 South 1775 East, Uintah, Utah, 84405. The viewing will begin at 11:00 am MDT, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm MDT.
In honor of David, we encourage you to share your memories, stories, and photos on his memorial page. His life was a tapestry of shared moments, laughter, and love, and we invite you to contribute to this living memory of a man who was truly one of a kind.
