David Ingle Obituary

David Lee "Moe" Ingle passed away peacefully into his eternal heavenly home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, just one day before his 73rd birthday. David's loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Sarah Ingle, were by his side as he entered into his eternal heavenly home on this day.

Born in Haywood County on September 24, 1952, he was the son of the late John Ingle and the late Myrtle Kuykendall Ingle. David spent his entire life in the place where he proudly called home- Canton was not just where he lived- it was the place where David built a life of purpose, service, and quiet strength. Moe has blessed our town and the residents of Canton throughout the years with his posts on Facebook of "Remember Canton When". David graciously became the group administrator of this popular page for all of Canton to see photos of cherished memories that will not be forgotten. Moe has touched all of our hearts with his posts!

He began his working career in 1973 with American Enka Corporation, remaining steadfast through its many transitions until his retirement in 2011. His dedication extended beyond the workplace. David was a committed member of the local union, # 2958, serving as Chief Steward and also as their President of the United Industrial Workers of America. His leadership was marked by fairness, integrity, and a true concern for the well-being of his fellow workers. David valued the importance of education, and in 1993, he earned his Associate's Degree in Electronic Engineering and proudly made the Dean's List, a true testament to his determination.

A man of many talents, Moe was known for his exceptional woodworking skills- his home still graced with the beautiful furniture pieces he crafted with care. He also had a passion for masonry and landscaping, building stunning rock walls and transforming outdoors grounds into admired spaces.

Above all, David loved his family with all his heart and soul. He was a wonderful son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His presence was a source of strength and an example to each of us. He will be forever missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Kuykendall.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Nathan Ingle and his wife Sarah; a sister, Shirley Ingle Clark; nieces, Pam Kuykendall Wucherer and Angie Clark Rico; a great-niece, Malea Rico; a great-nephew, Caleb Rico; a dear friend and handyman to David, Jesse Mathis; his two special dogs and companions, "Sadie May" and "Maximus"-( Max); and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Life and Gathering of Friends to honor David will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. This will be held from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm, with a service of remembrance beginning at 3:00 pm. Reverend Neal Roland will be officiating.

Flowers are appreciated, and memorials may be made to SARGES Animal Rescue Foundation. 256B Industrial Park Dr., Waynesville, NC 28786.
