David Jester Obituary
Dave met the love of his life and best friend, Louise, in Smyrna, Delaware in the winter of 1986. Shortly after, they married and moved to Charleston, South Carolina with their daughter, Sally. In 1989, Dave and Louise welcomed a son, DJ. In 2005, Dave and Louise welcomed a son and daughter, Jeff and Terra. Family and friends were everything to Dave.
In his spare time, Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, his dogs, coaching his kid's soccer and softball teams, and spending quality time with his grandchildren. Dave was a proud husband, Father, Grandpa, and retired Navy Chief. He was best known for helping others and being honest. He always had a story for everything; he was the life of the family!
Dave is survived by his wife Louise, daughters Sally, Terra, and Linda, sons DJ and Jeff, brothers, Nathan and Daryl, sister-in-laws Cindy and Kristin, his nephew Drew, his niece Natalie, six grandchildren; Brock, Paige, Sophia, Bradley, AJ, and Teagan, as well as many cousins and loving friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Dr., Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, please click Here to make contributions to The Semper Fi Fund in Dave's honor.

As Commanding Officer of USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) I knew Dave as Chief Jester; and a terrific BT he was! A true professional and an outstanding leader and shipmate, he could always be counted on to give 100% and more! I was also fortunate to have encountered him from time to time in recent years, and was proud and thankful that he continued to serve and work with ships and sailors long after retiring from active duty. Along with his family, friends, and former shipmates, our Navy and our nation will miss him!

I was a shipmate of BTC David Jester while I was the Operations Officer on USS MOUNT WHITNEY. I am honored to have to have served with him during this tour. As an Engineer he kept the lights burning and the screw turning!
