Gary Petric and I, being North Chicago guys, initially played against Dave in Colt League baseball around Lake County. We then got to know Dave and the rest of the "boys" during our 1972 run to the Colt League World Series in Tampa FL. One of the best team experiences I ever had. Just wonderful days and memories. Dave was one of a kind and one that you would never forget. Tough competitor, great teammate and funny as hell. My sincere condolences to his family. RIP my friend.

Coached David in Colt Legue baseball in the 1970's. He had a great passion for baseball. He is gone way to soon but I am sure the Lord has him fielding ground balls at 3rd base. Prayers to all of Dave's family.

I sure had some great times with Langer at various "deals" around Lake and McHenry counties. We had some great times at the Fox Lake American Legion, the Squaw Bar in Ingleside and Mary's Hideaway in Johnsburg.
Plus, we could talk music, especially anything from New Orleans and, of course, baseball.

i remember Dave and Jack Kash coming to my parents house to visit as i was recouping from appendix surgery. any abdominal pressure hurt like crazy and Dave and Jack had me laughing like crazy. together they were a riot(Frankie!!). i remember the first time i heard him play piano(at the bottom of the stairs). he was amazing. or throwing his shockproof watch up into the air as high as he could. it landed on the street and shattered. 'Sack, it's not shockproof.' there are many more. he was a great friend an a genuinely unique human being. love ya Langer!!! Rest in peace!!

I am so sorry and shocked to hear of Dave´s passing. Old buddy I knew you since we were ten years old playing baseball in peanut league. We grew up playing ball for the next ten years. But the thing I will remember most were how loyal of a friend you were. When I finished grad school and came home to work you offered up your house for me to rent. And after Sharon and I were married you made sure to call when we were looking for a place to live and the house next door was available. You did everything you could to make it happen. It did and we loved it. That´s why we were both best men in each others weddings. My friend, I´m heartbroken for losing you. Rest in peace buddy.
