David William Lee

David has arrived! Running victorious across the finish line on October 20, 2025, after a 17-year-long battle with brain cancer.

David William Lee was born June 23, 1942 in Portland, Oregon. He was the fourth of five boys, Morris (Linda), Richard (Kaye), Jim (Virginia), and Roger (Gloria), born to Melba and George Lee. Five boys and one mama, and so the adventure began!

The family returned to Ogden, Utah when David was very young. He grew up in east Ogden, surrounded by a band of brothers. Boys who became men, who remained friends, supporting and loving and sharing wild boyhood memories with David until his last days were done. Such a gift.

David had an adventurous soul with a zest for life. He loved horses, and as a teen he worked on a cattle ranch one summer. After graduating from Ogden High, he hitchhiked with a friend to New York and across Europe for several months. He climbed Mt. Rainier, worked in Yellowstone, biked nearly 300 miles across Missouri, hiked the Tetons, went on many southern Utah backpacking trips, and completed the Salt Lake, Saint George, and Denver marathons. David's second home was the gym.

David was in the Marine reserves for four years. He attended the University of Utah and Weber State College, graduating with a degree in Business and Economics. David was employed as a conductor with the Union Pacific Railroad. David held a deep faith and served in several callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

David married Toni Steinmetz, and they later divorced. They had one son, Christopher, whom David raised. David married Pam Wilson on August 14, 1993. They had one son, Austin (Noelle). David had one grandson, August. David loved his family deeply. David and Pam traveled, skied, hiked, biked, laughed, and found joy, even in the difficult parts of the journey. Love never fails.

Gratitude to all the family and friends who have stood beside us.

Thanks also to the Canyon Hospice team, especially Brittany and Teisha, for their years of compassion and care.

A family prayer will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Huntsville 2nd Ward, located at 277 S 7400 E, in Huntsville, UT at 11:30 a.m. A brief memorial service, for all friends and family, will then be held at noon at the Huntsville City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity close to your heart, or maybe take a nice fall hike with someone you love.
